4 of our kiddos are home-grown and born of my womb. 3 more were born in our hearts, birthed halfway across the world, then delivered by the Lord's hand to our arms.
Each and every one of them is beloved.
Sunny - Our city girl turned adult in the blink of an eye. Lover of the lime-light. Boundary pusher. Artistic. Adores Vietnamese food and spicy things. Nursing student. Simply gorgeous. Loves to flirt, laugh, have fun, and be in front of the camera. Fashion-risk-taker. Independent. Quick to lend a hand and peace maker. Confident. Did I mention confident? Born trying to leave the nest and the first to leave the nest. Lover of sushi. Blind as a bat.
Future owner of a modernly-decorated, exclusive, penthouse, condo and a bulldog named Jack.

Livy - 17-year-old roller coaster lover. Will try, do, eat, or experience anything once. Country girl. Comfortable not being the center of attention. Really super duper hard worker. College girl. Wants to go to 3rd world countries and volunteer in orphanages... and does just that. Tenacious. The best friend you always wanted. Likes to point out her mama's faults and right the injustices of the world. Fly-fisherman. Beautiful outside and in!
Patch - 15-year-old, scraped-up, tree climber. A boy's boy. Baby blues that I just could fall into, just like his papa's. Hiker, splunker, wrestler and climber. Bean pole skinny. Bucker of all systems, rules, plans, homework, agendas, schedules, and chores. Clown. Learning to drive. The 3rd teenager under our roof. Soft, tender, and vulnerable on the inside despite all that dirt on the outside. Cracks himself up. Mountain climber. Exhausting. A little too smart for his own good. Taker of any dare.
Future whatever his papa is at the time, 'cause that's all he wants to be.

Boo - 11-year-old, easy-going guy. 10 lb baby that despite numerous screeching requests was born without drugs in 45 minutes. The "easy" child. Lady's man. Likes his hair to be well kept. Modest. Really tall. Seems to like to bring the dirt from the outside and deposit it on the floor inside. Squeezable, smooshable, and huggable. Learning to be defiant and sneaky. Typical middle child. Lover of video games, movies, and anything his older brother has. Quick with a smile. Amazing caregiver.
Future engineer and teddy-bear father.

Jude - 6-year-old cuddle bug. All boy and thus likes cars, sticks, and weapons. Lover of tomatoes and frozen grapes. 28 days older than Tess. Likes things just so. Our "sensory sensitive" child and plain ol' Mr . Sensitive in general. The family tattler. Was born in SaiGon, VietNam, with bilateral club feet, had 2 surgeries, 2 sets of serial casting, and enough physical therapy to last a life time. Forever ours September 1, 2008. Insightful. Rule enforcer. Was often Tess's crib mate at the orphanage. Is very particular about the details.
Future explorer of the cosmos and everybody's friend.

Tess - 6-year-old Little Miss SaiGon. More flexible, nimble, and agile than most. Super hero. Our "sensory seeking" child. Throws a temper tantrum better than any child I've ever seen. Really fast. Skeeter bug and dynamo. Still learning to love and be loved in this crazy world. Really super fast! Survivor. Has taught the Crazy Mama more about life than anyone. Transformed. Never met a stranger. Climber of high dangerous things. Favorite color is black. Born a preemie at 3 lbs in SaiGon, VietNam and forever ours on September 1, 2008. 28 days younger than Jude. Petite... I mean really petite. Often Jude's crib mate at the orphanage.
Future contortionist for the circus, ninja and super model.
. . . . . . . . . .
Mimi - 4-year-old cutie patootie. Our newest addition from Jiangxi, China, and forever ours on March 4, 2012. Named after my very missed grandmother. Girly girl. Walks literally with a skip in her step. Demanding, tenacious, and very feminine all in one adorable package. Hard boiled egg and salad lover. Stubborn as an ox. Mimic. Petite. Kiss giver. Shadow to Tess and Jude. Spicey. Adored by her brothers and sisters. Cheeks to die for and a smile that lights up a room. Speech delayed. A dream come true.

Tess sounds exactly like my Emma, thank God I am not the only one. She is a sensory seeking premie (3.5 pounds) who can do amazing things with her body. Seriously, exactly like Tess. Love your family!!
