Introducing Ru

We're starting off this new year with a brand new forever for this little one!

We are over the moon excited to show off our new son, who is half way across the world in Guangzhou, China.
Today our LOA is finally coming, (after 59 days, not that I was counting or anything!) and we will have the honor of signing the Chinese document that says, Yes, we absolutely positively accept this child, our son, claim him as ours, to be part of our forever and ever.
If you're doing a double take thinking he looks a lot like Jude, you're not alone. That's just what we thought too! Right now he's going by the nickname Ru, which is part of his Chinese name. There're lots of name discussions going on in this house right now and nobody is without an opinion!
More to come including lots of details, but for now, I couldn't wait one more minute to show him off!
We love you already, Ru, and can't wait to show you what forever family love looks like!

  1. Congratulations!!!! Your son is a real cuty (although he might not think of himself in that way!). His smile is contageous (sorry for the spelling, English is not my first language) and I can't help looking at him. Want to wish you all the luck in the world.
    With love,
Anita (Dutch adoptive mum of 2 from China)

    1. Thank you, Anita! I have made a few friends, both in real life and online, via this blog from adoption and photography, and I am happy to meet you too! I don't have any friends from Holland though so I'm glad to meet you! I love that I get to know people from all over the world!

  2. That precious treasure certainly looks like Jude~
And that smile. Now Jude will soon have a comrade to "gang up" with the girls!

Looking forward to reading about your journey with Ru.

  3. Congratulations!! So thrilled for you and for Ru (I realize his Chinese nickname has nothing to do with Winnie the Pooh but that's what it reminds me of, Kanga's baby, who, also was super cute!). Fingers crossed for March travel!

    1. That's exactly how we are pronouncing it, like Roo. Actually we don't how it's actually pronounced seeing as how there are many dialects in China. It just seems to fit him and I think it's one of the reasons were having such trouble coming up with an American name too. Thank you, Jessica! We're so so excited to call him ours!

  4. Oh Nancy, I am so very excited for you and your family, as well as Ru!! Praying his heart is being prepared well for what is to come. Although I do not know you in person, I feel like I know enough to say Ru is going to be in the best of hands and will be surrounded by love! I look forward to watching your journey this time around again.....😁

    1. "Praying his heart is being prepared well for what is to come." That's my big prayer right now too. Thank you so much for that prayer. It's VERY much appreciated, Kieren!

  5. Looks like 2017 will be a life changing (in a good way!) year for you all. I hope 'Ruben' is one of the names in discussion, the 'Ru' nickname seems to suit that smile so well! Looking forward to following the 'crazy 10'.

    1. What a year it will be! We will be keeping his Chinese name as part of his name, so I think Ru will be sticking with him forever! And I agree that it does suit him!
