Our sweet lovely amazing wonderful girl.
I know there are several more adjectives I should throw in there, like gorgeous, and smart, and stubborn, and funny, but we'll stick with those for now.
Folks still ask us how it's going. The transition I guess they mean. And I honestly can say that 10 months later Mimi's transition, her to us, and us to her, has been the easiest of our three. Not without sorrow. Not without stress. Not finished. But really quite predictable and in hind-sight, dare I say easy?

She is so wholly adored by us all. We can not pour enough of all we have and our our love in to her.

As someone reminded me the other day, it's any wonder that we actually get any thing done around here from all the time that we spend covering her with kisses.
And squeezing the stuffing out of her.
And soaking in her cuteness.
And doting on her every need and desire.
And wondering in disbelief how we got so incredibly lucky to have this amazing child as our daughter.

She kinda rules the roost around here. Nobody can tell her no. She's just too sweet. We adore this amazing girl and her laugh, and it's kinda funny how we all rush to help her when she needs any little thing. Mama, can I please tuck Mimi in tonight? Sunny got to do it last night. She gets out of the bathtub and at least 2 people rush to her with a towel. Thankfully there is a chair on each side of her at the dinner table for her fans. I don't think we are spoiling her. In a home with 9 people, is it possible to spoil any one person?
Well maybe we are spoiling her a bit.
And it is our honor to do it.

And in turn she is loving us. I know with all of my being that she is loving us. She's quick with a smile and coming to us for comfort. She loves to snuggle and rest her head in that little crook in my neck. She mimics every little thing. Copies every word. Sings and sings and sings. She soaks up each hug and back rub and kiss. And comes back for more. She is comforted by my whispers when the sadness creeps in to her dreams. And she loves to explore the unknown but makes sure we're there to catch her if she falls.

It has been a best case scenario.
Something we prayed for and never dared dreamed would actually happen.

Our sweet lovely amazing wonderful girl.

ReplyDeleteWhat a precious gift she is! Your photos capture her joy and I love that!
ReplyDeleteThese photos are so rich, so bright and perky. That must make you smile when there's offers to help bathe your little one - probably a testament to you and your partner in all of your brood's upbringing. I've been reading a while when things were really tough and I'm so pleased there's a light shining right now. Renee
