Our sock monkey

{If you seeing this on Saturday or Sunday, there is still a little more time to enter the giveaway.  Click here.  Winner announced on Monday!}

I figured since it is her very first Halloween ever, she deserves her very own blog post!
shot with my Canon 5D Mark II, 24-70 lens - ISO 400,  f/2.8 1/320 sec, 70mm
Edited in Lightroom 4 with some One Willow presets
The evening of Halloween gets kinda crazy, so I wanted to put her in her costume a few days early  to get some pics of her.

And oh my.

Oh my my my!

Liv picked out her costume and the first time we saw her in it, I think we all got a tooth ache.
On account of how sweet she is and all!
I think just she might be the cutest sock monkey in all of the kingdom.
Jude so wanted to get in the pictures.  Below, he is actually telling her the part about how when they go to the houses, the people actually give them candy.  By the look on her face, I think she's starting to comprehend the whole concept.
I love you little sock monkey!

PS-Tell me pretty please it's not bad to dress my other little Asian sweeties in Asian themed costumes.  They are consumed with all things Milan and Ninja right now.

Linking up this week with Sunday Snapshot, Sunday Best, Simple Things Sunday, and Weekly Top Shot.  Head over to see some wonderful and inspirational shots!

    1. I can't think of anything wrong with anything wrong with it either. Especially since they are Asian and all. But there seems to always be another slant in the I'm-raising-an-interracial-family world to think about. For the life of me I can't think of what it would be.
      Thx M!

    1. I'm envying your snow! I know that sounds weird coming from the land of green grass and sunshine. But I do miss the seasons. I guess the grass is alwasy greener on the other side of the fence, which must be where I live since the grass is truely green in these parts. hehe!

And why would it be wrong to dress Asian children in Asian outfits, lol? Don't mind if some people stare. Unfortunately it happens, but you just keep rockin'it. I have found this post on a very lovely lady's blog and I enjoyed it so much. Maybe you know it too, but in case you don't, here's the link to the post: http://ashleyannphotography.com/blog/2012/10/15/just-rock-it/ The comments were nice to read too. So many stories.

I can't wait to see their costumes! I hope you will post photos of ALL your kids in their costumes.

  8. She's absolutely adorable as a sock monkey. Love those eyes.

I think kids should be whatever they want to be. This year I'm expecting we're going to be seeing a whole lot of ninjas!

Thanks for sharing with YSB this week.

  11. Have I ever told you that monkeys are one of my absolute favorite animals?!?!?! I wish I could reach out and hug her she is so stinking cute!

As for Tess and Jude, if they are liking ninjas and Mulan, COOL.. You aren't trying to ridicule or put down anything. I have several friends of varying ethnicity that have dressed as both "white" characters, and as characters from other cultures. I think my favorite was a friend who dressed as Jasmine from Aladdin (and she looked beautiful, I could NEVER pull that off)...

  12. Cutest sock monkey in the kingdom and in the history of the world!!! Honestly, you must forward one of these photos to the company/store who sells them. You might get a modeling contract out of it!
