{Patch}

I can't decide if I like this image better in color
or black and white
I've been going back and forth. At first I liked the black and white. Then I loved the color version and the vintage-ish tones.  Then back to the black and white.  And it keeps back and forth like that.
What I do know, is that good photos of boys that have just turned 14-years-old can be hard to come by. And I know that I am absolutely going to frame this one and hang it somewhere.

Which one do you think?

  1. They're both wonderful! I can't decide either. Because the photo is stunning. It couldn't be anything else since the subject is so hansome ♥ Happy birthday.

    1. I know, right? So classic and so many tones and the textures pop.
      Still waffling...

  3. Nancy,

    Love the photo! My personal preference is for color. I think black and white photo's are over-rated. Sometimes I like close ups in black and white, otherwise I feel things get lost. Obviously, I am a novice and what do I know? I love the vibrant colors, Patch's blue shirt is a knock out!

    1. I WANT to like the black and white more. But the color keep popping back to be my favorite. There's something about those browns and natural tones and the huge pop of blue... just love it.

    2. I am happy to see I'm not the only one!! ;) I think B&W photos are over-rated too. I dislike when I hear people say that ONLY B&W pics can reflect soul and such. :)

  6. I like them both...but I love how the light in the color version evokes more mood. So I'm with Sophi Belle here.... the color seems deeper to me, too.

  7. I like the B & W better. It's easier to see his face.

  8. I love both, but for printing and framing, I'd choose the color one! He's getting that "manly" look that I'm sure you do not want to hear/read! Handsome kiddo.

  9. I like the B & W myself. His eyes pop more in that one. Nice shot! Happy Birthday!

  11. Such a tough call.. I agree, the black and white one lets you focus on his face easier, but the color one is so full or rich browns... I think I like it better... the color one that is.. but both are awesome.
