Summer affords us time to do things that we wouldn't have time for other wise.
Like just being together.
Just doing a lot of nothing important for no other reason than we get to do it together.
As a busy family of 9, during the school year there are numerous commitments to doctor's appointments, school functions, social events, practices...
Our 2-month escape to Little Cabin in the Woods even makes it better. There's no phone to ring. No mailbox to empty. No solicitors at the door.
Just lovely sweet time with family.
And the bonus is that Papa's parents and sister and her family have their own Little Cabins in the Woods just down the street.
Today we celebrated summer with a car wash at Granna's house.
My car was filthy! And it needed to be washed badly!

By the time the kiddos got bored and moved on to riding Big Wheels down the drive way with their cousins finished the job, my car was still filthy! And it needed to be washed badly!
But cleaning the car wasn't actually the objective anyway.

Oh, Nancy!

You have a stunning blog and a gift with a camera. Thanks for linking up with Twinkle in the Eye :-)
ReplyDeleteNancy - these are all so great. I really like the one of Patch, it is hard to get such natural smiles of older boys, that is one great smile from him (with nice framing). I also really like the bucket ones. I have a picture of my sister in a bucket like that when we were growing up. I treasure that photo. Car washing at your little cabin in the woods looks like a whole lot of fun!
