We made it!
The flight was long.  And the magic in my little magic sleepy pill must have worn off because not a wink was to be had... except for Patch who drooled on my arm as he slept adding insult to injury.
I fought a migraine headache the whole way and was trying hard not to get sick.  3 movies, 2 meals, lots of solitaire, walking... let's just say that when it was over we were all glad.  Not sure at all how it's going to happen in reverse with a toddler.  I will say the Korean Air ROCKS!  Awesome airline if anyone out there is trying to decide on airlines.
And as much as I'd love to have our girl in my arms now, I am SO thankful we are not getting Mimi for a few days.  Our bodies absolutely need time to adjust.
We arrived at night, and it's still dark outside this morning.

Today's plan is to visit The Forbidden City, stretch out our bodies, and have dinner with some friends of some friends.

Good golly we are really really here!!!

  1. Korean Air looks much nicer than the China Air flight we took last trip - hoping beyond hope for seat-back entertainment systems this time! Hope that migraine of yours is gone - ugh....nothing like a nauseating killer headache on a MANY hour flight!

  2. You're there, yay!! :D

I know how difficult a long flight is. Last summer we did a journey like this too.

Get as much rest as you can. ;)

  4. Yippee!!! You are there! I've been thinking of you today and hoping all is going well with your travel. Will pray for you to adjust and that jet lag wouldn't get you down!!

And you are right! Korean Air absolutely rocks! We flew them to Thailand and man, they are awesome. Even waived our early departure penalties of like $500 since we were an adopting family. Loved them.

So happy for you! Can't wait to hear more!

  9. So sorry about the migraine! But I'm glad you made it safely! Enjoy Beijing. And keep your eyes open for Pleasant Goat merchandise (popular cartoon series there). Our little one adores it. She came to us with a Pleasant Goat hair clip and she's ever so proud of it. Maybe Mazie likes it, too...
